 Excursion to the Benedictine Abbey of Cava de' Tirreni + the historic center of Cava dei Tirreni

Walking tour of the the abbey of the Benedictine fathers of Holy Trinity in Cava dè Tirreni, founded in 1011 by Saint Alferio, a nobleman of Salerno.
Very soon the Abbey became the centre for a flourishing congregation and expanded to embrace approximately 400 churches, abbeys and priories. The itinerary includes the full tour of the monastery with the Basilica, the Cave of Sant'Alferio, the Catacombs, the Longobard cemetery and the museum.
After the visit to the abbey the tour will continue with a walk in the historical center of Cava, famous for the picturesque arcades of the "Borgo Scacciaventi”.
